Forthcoming Festival - Satyanarayan Katha

= Celebrating 40th Anniversary (1973-2013) =
Dear Member,
As you all know that we are starting
with the Satyanarayan Katha as part of our 40
years of happy existence in Blackburn. We want you
to participate in this celebration by registering at
least two members of your family to take part in this
special Puja Ceremony. It does not have to be a couple
but any combination will do. If you are not sure, do
give us a ring for advice. We will provide a steel
puja-thali, puja samagri, and a murti of Lord Vishnu
specially purchased from India for this auspicious
day. The Puja thali and the Murti will be yours to
keep.
The items that you have to bring on the day is:
- A small murti of Ganesh, a bunch of flowers
(make sure you have at least 1000 petals to offer
1000 names of Lord Vishnu), you will also need a
dish to put those flower petals in
- Some fruits and two cushions to sit on. For
those who could not sit on the floor, we will
provide tables and chairs to do puja, but do let
us know in advance
- Two 'Patlaas' to place Murti and a kalash,
fruit and nuts etc
- A small plate to do Aarti at the end.(You can
decorate it if you wish)
- One coconut and a glass or ‘Loti’ for water and
a spoon
- Bring Tulsina paan if you have them at home.
Bring a little bit of 'Gor' for Ganesh.
- Tarbhani, it's spoon and a cup (of copper if you
have) to carry out puja
- Three cotton Tea-towels, tissues and some loose
change
- 'Punchamrut' (a mixture of milk, yoghurt, honey,
ghee and kesar) in a small cup.
Please Note: The Satyanarayan Katha will be
conducted by our very own punditji Shreeman
Madhusudan Dave and kindly assisted by Shreeman
Ranjitgiri Gonsai for whom we are very grateful to
both of them for their services.
Saturday - 20th April 2013 from 10am for 11am start
Mahaprasaad will be served after the Puja Ceremony
Main Hall downstairs - Bangor St. Community Centre
Your Puja contribution - £11.25 only per pair
We have only a limited number of places available.
So register your places NOW by using
the Contact Us form above before 5th April 2013, and
be part of the celebration. We will need volunteers
to do Sewa on the day. Please forward your names for
Sewa which is part of our Hindu Dharma (duty).
